Arrest Of 666Bet Director Paul Bell & £21million Fraud Probe Leads To Suspension Of Metro Play Limited Operating License

666Bet Director Paul Bell has been arrested following a £21million fraud probe in which 6 other people have been arrested, 13 properties have been raided and £1million in cash has been siezed.

As a result of the arrest, The UK Gambling Commission has made the decision to suspend the Operating License for MetroPlay Limited, which covers 666Bet and Metro Play, saying that "it suspects that Metro Play Limited (the Licensee) is unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities (section 120(1)(d) of the Act) and considers it appropriate to suspend the licence with immediate effect pending the conclusion of the review".

There is no suggestion that MetroPlay Limited, MetroPlay or 666Bet are involved in the fraud probe and the license may well be re-instated following the investigation. However, both MetroPlay.com and 666Bet.com websites are currently down preventing players from accessing their accounts and making withdrawals.

The announcement from the UK Gambling Commission confirms that "In accordance with section 118(4)(c) of the Act the Licensee is authorised to settle any outstanding winning bets that it has accepted in reliance on the above operating licence and return any outstanding balances to customers". 

Customers should therefore contact [email protected] or [email protected] respectively to recover any outstanding balances.

As a result of the above news, sadly we have no option but to temporarily suspend any Metro Play cashback claims and payments. Rest assured that we will do our utmost to recover any outstanding commissions from Metro Play and settle any outstanding cashback amounts due to our members.
