Suarez Risks Losing Sponsorship With Poker Brand 888
Poker brand 888 is now claiming to be reviewing its sponsorship deal with footballer Luis Suarez after the Uruguay striker bit an opponent during a World Cup match on Tuesday.
Suarez, who also plays for Liverpool, became an ambassador for the brand just last month, is already in danger of losing the brand’s backing.
A spokesperson for 888 said: "Following the allegations made against Luis Suarez in regards to his behaviour during Uruguay’s World Cup match against Italy, 888poker is seriously reviewing its relationship with the player as we will not tolerate any unsporting behaviour."
FIFA is investigating the incident, but it is not the first time he has bitten another player, being twice banned for similar incidents, he is likely to incur another suspension despite escaping any sanctions during the actual match.
