Game of Thrones Star Daniel Portman Swaps Sword Fighting for Bingo
22 year-old Portman who plays Tyrion Lannister in television hit Game of Thrones made a surprise appearance at Coopers in Glasgow’s West End this week to call out numbers at a fund-raising bingo night for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Bringing in much needed extra cash, the actor even charged for kisses on the cheek. Portman, who grew up in Shawlands, an area south of the city said “I’m happy to help out. It’s great to be able to give something back.”
The event raised more than £500 with the community delighted at the turn-out. Macmillian also expressed their gratitude, saying:
“We’re really grateful to Daniel and Coopers. It’s not every day a well-known young Scottish actor gives his time to help raise funds for an important cause, and we’re very pleased with the reaction.”
